Our Story – The Beginning of The Sanctuary
In 2024, a small group of us first connected through a live worship service on TikTok. The host was visibly struggling, yet there was also a real sense of the Holy Spirit moving. The conversation that day centered on mental health and the Church—and how so many had been rejected or pushed aside by traditional congregations, unfairly labeled as “problem people.”
For many of us, it felt like a rare place of belonging. People could share openly, whether or not they had full emotional regulation, and still be heard without judgment. It was the first time in a long time that some of us felt safe in a faith-based community.
But as time went on, the leader of that space, who was himself battling mental health challenges, began to change. What started as authentic worship and connection slowly became overshadowed by personal conflicts, favoritism, and drama. Instead of being a place of welcome, people were silenced, ignored, and even told to “shut up.” The once-promising community grew toxic.
The breaking point came when a woman was publicly told to remain silent. That moment revealed clear red flags, and several of us knew it was time to step away. Though difficult, leaving was necessary to protect both our faith and our mental health.
Those who left together are what we now call the founding members of The Sanctuary. We are people who have endured rejection, toxicity, and spiritual harm, yet hold fast to Christ. As Scripture says, we are those who have “washed our robes in the blood of the Lamb” and seek a place where worship is pure, inclusive, and Centered on Jesus.
In the most unlikely moment in time, the Father brought His children together to join for His purpose. What the enemy meant for harm, God turned into the seed of something new. As we witness this new beginning, we lift our praise to the Father—for the work He already had planned and the miracles He has yet to unfold. We are full of excitement! and expectation, eager to see what He alone can do!
From that shared experience of both pain and hope, The Sanctuary was born—a place where everyone can encounter God’s presence, no matter their background, struggles, or story.
✨ Quote :”What began as survival became the seed of revival—out of broken places, God raised up a sanctuary for all.”
📖 Scripture:
“They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”
